A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §5F-1-3b, relating to increasing compensation for Parole Board members.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

ARTICLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

§5F-1-3b. Parole Board member compensation increase.

Notwithstanding provisions in §5F-1-3a of this code for review and recommendations by the executive compensation commission concerning compensation for members of the Parole Board, the state finds that the increased work load being required of the members justifies increased compensation.  Therefore, effective July 1, 2018, the yearly compensation of members of the Parole Board shall be increased from $50,000 to $60,000.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase pay of Parole Board members by $10,000 per year.
